今時今日的青年人，大約沒有人知道誰是瓦特。更不會知道，我們的電燈泡上寫著的，是六十瓦，還是一百瓦的那一個「瓦」字，就是瓦特的名字。


想當年，瓦特發明蒸汽機的故事，就像牛頓發現蘋果跌在地上那麼流行。還不容易嘛，水汽會把茶煲裡的蓋子揭開。是個簡易的原理。本來，這應該是每個孩子，特別是每個男孩子的故事。但今日的男孩子，通常只識打機，不會知道這樣的故事。


他們更加不會知道，這故事裡面蘊含的另一種另類的教訓。


以下是瓦特的小小資料：


瓦特是前後經歷了十五年才試製成功的。起初，他只是個實驗室儀器修理員。腦中己有了蒸汽機的意念，可惜欠缺資金，無法進行。很「偶然」的機會，他獲得一個工業家的支持，可惜在花費了不少錢之後失敗了。蒸汽不斷從活塞中漏出來。那時世上還未有不漏氣的活塞呢。工業家也不再支持他了。瓦特的命運也不好。家境困難，兄弟姊妹都死光了，連他的妻子，也在他實驗失敗後逝世了。他自己也身體不好，經常頭痛、、、。


這一類發明家的故事，其實是有相同公式的。


最初是有個很有朝氣的青年人，想到了一個點子。但是，沒有資金，無法進行。


後來有了資金，(瓦特不是非常幸運地，找到了一位工業家支持他嗎？)不過，這資金會很快用光。
瓦特弄得家破人亡，沒有人敢仿效他，當個窮困的發明家。


為甚麼資金很快用光？當然不是因為有人中飽私囊，而是技術不足。看，活塞的小小漏氣問題，竟然拖了他十幾年。為甚麼他只能在全無技術支援下苦幹？為甚麼社會竟然會容許這樣的事情發生？


因為，社會沒有想到，小小的漏氣問題，不是拖了瓦特個人十幾年，而是拖了整個社會十幾年。


我們可以把過去三百年的現代文明社會，更名為：非自覺的石油文明社會。


這個社會，過份依賴所謂「自由市場」，全無危機意識，從未能在整體著眼看問題。


　　如果今時今日，有相同的一個傻瓜青年，他想到了一種辦法，他想出了某種有效利用陽光的好主意，我們的社會，仍會像對待瓦特一樣的對待他。


　　資金？欠奉。


　　技術支援？從來沒有。


　　他只能像瓦特一樣，傾家蕩產，家破人亡。


　　更如果，這青年人只是像李察之類的思想者，他看到的只是一種理論，社會更加會用盡方法，禁制他的思想傳播。因為，非自覺的石油文明，特徵是「保
守」。他們覺得，陌生的思想，都是危險的。要完全剷除這樣的思想。(多年來，誰能在書店裡買得到李察的書？書店都不肯賣他的書的。(*秘密黨的勢力，到2023年都從未消退，只是隱藏得更好。)

我們的社會能夠以一百億元為單位，任意投放於不同的項目之中，但從未曾切實想過，我們的知識網絡，已經太過殘舊，需要更新。

How is the old and new party struggle in the Song Dynasty different from today ?

The Song Dynasty was an absolutely sad dynasty.  Liang Qichao said that every time he read the history of the Song Dynasty, he would be extremely sad and weep madly.

Wang Anshi is a rare reformer through the ages. He wants to reform and strengthen everything to build a new China.  But every reform he proposed met fierce opposition from the old party.  The old party spread all over the country, and Wang Anshi's new policies also required local officials of the old party to implement them.  They are all there everywhere in  upper and lower places. How can the New Deal be successful if the old party members were totally in control?

What Wang Anshi changed was the law, but he didn't mention the heart.  A reform requires a change of heart. Without the support of the people, relying on a mere decree is bound to fail.

But this heart is definitely not a momentary public opinion, or press opinion.  It is a comprehensive reform of the ideological system, a complete change of the world outlook and outlook on life.

宋朝的新舊黨爭和今日有何不同？

宋朝是一個絕對悲哀的朝代。梁啟超說，他每次閱讀宋史，都會大慟。

王安石是一個千古難得的改革家，他要變法圖強，建立一個新的中國。但是他所提出的每一項改革，都遭受到舊黨的激烈反對。舊黨遍佈全國，王安石的新政，也都需要舊黨的地方官去推行。上上下下，全是一丘之貉。苟且因循，新政怎可能成功？

王安石變的是法，但並沒有提到心。變法必先變心，沒有民心的支持，只靠一紙政令，必定失敗。

但這個心也絕不是一時的民意，或者輿論之類。而是思想系統的全盤改革，是宇宙觀和人生觀的徹底變更。

另一方面，王安石也沒有走民眾路線。群眾從未有動員起來，思潮未起，惡習怎能去除？他依賴少數仕大夫官僚，也是失敗的原因。

今日形勢，舊黨已經變成祕密的地下黨。他們在暗中聯絡群眾，走群眾路線，建立了暗中的地下網絡，這個地下黨，從上至下，民心受制於無形之手。而這隻手，是從遙遠的美國伸過來的。美國人曾經以為，只靠這隻手便可以把香港挖出去。他們絕對不知道，這隻秘密的手，是不可能推倒大潮流的。香港在幾年前的事變，使人覺察了這隻偷偷摸摸的手。問題知道了，必定有辦法的。

一個是思想系統，一個是群眾路線，兩者缺一不可。

關於地下黨的祕密群眾路線，還有一點是不可不留意到的。這一種「群眾路線」，是被海洋般的互聯網在陰暗中䕶育的。某一位歌手的歌，忽然大紅大紫。據説網上的「點擊率」是天文數字。初聽之下，有㸃震懾。但隔了一段時間，冷靜下來再聽，便開始產生了懷疑。到底那天文數字是真的？還是有人在暗中做了手腳，泡制一個假數字出來，制造負面氣氛？

如果這是真的做假，問題就不宜迥避了。地下黨在互聯網中的勢力，到底有多大？

從鼓吹吃喝到宣講無奈，更令人懷疑，互聯網中的嚇人大宣傳，還有無量數的小虛假，都是同一目的。

Because there is a will in everyone.

We need to know there is not an end but a hope in the future.

And it is only the framework of everything. And the framework is important. We can build our beautiful future in the framework.

We do not need destruction.

We need only understanding. And with understanding we can  built a future.

The western media have been avoiding to mention Dao Lang.

They are avoiding to see the heated response of the Chinese people to a new song.

They are  reluctant to see the truth.

Why the European paradigms are no better than the Chinese one?

 

This is time of war.  Everybody is busy fighting.  We have very little time. 

But it is always like this.  You will not find a time in history not fighting.  People are always fighting,   but if they  wish to fight better,  they need to think.

Paradigm is  important.  It could help to see clearly about the whole picture.  You find yourself suddenly smarter than before. You know the direction.  You will not be misled by anyone.

The European paradigm is in a simple formula.

They believe the universe is a closed circuit. There is a beginning and an end to everything.  It means there is no hope.  It means human effort is completely useless.

And the second point about the European paradigm is still worse.  They do not know that the inner mind is an unlimited universe.  There are unlimited possibilities for the inner mind to explore.

The European paradigm thought the mind is wrongly designed. Everyone is a sinner. They must use their whole effort to correct this sin.  They must obey the elders to  repent.    They must conform  to the paradigms.

And that was the worse part of the European paradigm.

When  people believed their mind is wrongly designed, They will have nowhere to go,  but to seek earthly pleasures,  and be rotten at the end of their lives.

That's why the European paradigm is worse than the Chinese paradigm.

If you can deeply understand this paradigm, you will understand yourself.  And you have a clear picture of all the world affairs.

You need to work on these paradigms,   You need to work on the Europeans. You need to help them.

From this grand aspect of paradigms,  the Ukraine matters, or other Middle-East  Problems are not  problems.

They'll be settled quickly.

The point is a need to work on the Europeans first.  Let them escape the chains of the paradigms,  and let them escape the chains of the Americans.

Europeans need to free themselves.

Europeans need a New  Renaissance to free themselves.

Space, time, life and the will

                  (Plus: A Poem)

In such a time of war and fighting everywhere, should we look at these abstract thoughts?

The answer is definitely yes.

Western Europeans are suffering from the lacking of these thoughts for a long time.

If they can pick up the thoughts, they will be rich again.

If the Europeans are rich, then we will also be rich. The Northern Americans will be poor.

If you can have a clear insight about the European paradigms you will know yourself. You will achieve better than anyone else.

Now let us study the conclusions first.........

Conclusions are listed here:

1. Space is not limited. There's no boundary for the space.

2. Time is not limited. There is no beginning and no ending of time.

3. Life is not limited. There is no beginning and no ending of life.

4. There is a will in this universe.

1.   Space

In space, the concept of "outside" is a guide.  

There will not be a space without outside. There will always be an "outside" waiting out there. The outside of something has its own outside.  There are always an outside for the inside.  Therefore we can be sure that outside is an absolute existence. There will not be anywhere without outside.

There will always be a space outside. 

Hence the concept of "area" or "volumn" are not possible for the universe. You cannot answer the question: How big is the universe? Because there is no boundary. And you cannot measure a space without boundary.

The concept about an unlimited universe is a common sense. It is not difficult to comprehend.

2.  Time is unlimited.

The concept about time is similar.

There will not be a boundary of time.

You can reach to a certain point at time.

But another time is waiting ahead. There will be no end of time. And there will be no beginning of time.  There will be no "outside" of time.

We are living in such a space. There is no boundary. We are living such a time. There is no end.

3. Life

First things about life: 

Life is a continue process without beginning and ending.

Life can not be lit up.

If some guy lit up your life, then who had lit up his life? If a secret power had lit up his life, then who was to light up the secret power ?

Life is like time. There is no beginning and no ending.

Life is like a chain. We are only one stop of the long chain. The chain has got no beginning and no end.

We are living in such a strange place. And it is not strange at all. It's only because we have never been deeply studying about it. It is simple and easy. People will find it comfortable in time.

Second things about life : 

Possibilities are unlimited.

Not one of the leaves are the same. Not one of the lifes are the same. It is because the inner structure of life is also unlimited. You will not find another you in the universe, and you will not find another earth in this universe.

Each one of them is unique.  Each one of them is the only one in this unlimited universe.

Why are we not the same?

Because we can perform the best performance if we are not the same. We will be doing the best for the universe.

How strange.

In such a special case, we can expect something extraordinary in the future.

And the next question is, how come?

How come such a grand universe and such unlimited time and so many extraordinary units or people are everywhere?

4.  Is there a will in this universe?

The answer is positive.

There is a will in every creature in our universe. When they are starving, they want to eat. When they are lonely, they want to find company.

It is possible to have a grand will in this universe about everything and about everyone.

Miracles are possible.   Because there will not be only one physical law governing this universe. We are all familiar with the existing laws in this universe. But we seldom reach other laws in this universe.

When something strange happened, it's not easy to believe it is true.

We need to believe that there is a will in this universe.  The will itself will interfere in our lives some of the times.  It is better to be prepared and be awared.

Surgery on a sinking ship

 

It must be the most fantastic dream in my life,  because it solves almost all the problems I cannot  handle.

We were in a sinking ship of a medium size,   it's like the cross- harbor ferry in Hong Kong.

I saw the ship was sinking in a 45  degree awkward position.

But there was no panic on board.

I saw the captain's wife talking with a white skin foreigner  who was a strong man around the age of 50.  The captain's wife advised  the man to learn swimming. The man refused. He dare not jump into the water to learn.

Later I found the man have a deal with the captain.  The captain was a strong Chinese man,  maybe in his early sixties.

The man agreed to let the captain do a heart surgery for him.

I was amazed that they can do such operation in such a time without any facilities.  Yet the man is happily agreed.  Maybe this is the most urgent time for him.

And I don't know why the captain can put aside the work  to  save the ship,  but to save the  white skin man first.

I asked the man, can I take a video for you?  He said yes.  I asked again.  He said yes again.

 So I rushed to my video camera. And I saw the tools are prepared.  There was a small plastic piece  like glass, with some holes on it.  And I saw some sewing needles.

It was by this time some telephone were ringing.

It was my alarm clock.

I switched off my alarm clock and woke up.

The dream didn't show  the results of the operation, nor the fate of the ship.

My dreams are always like this. They will not show you the result but certainly there is a hint  in the dream.

Do we need to do a surgery in the heart for the white skin man to save the ship?

Let me think for a while to forget it.

A Warning from Mencius

*Mencius is not the same as Confucius.  He had his own idea. He was smart to have said that he was Confucian.  He did win a place  in the Confucius kingdom.

孟子對曰：「王何必曰利？亦有仁義而已矣。王曰『何以利吾國』？大夫曰『何以利吾家』？士庶人曰『何以利吾身』？上下交征利而國危矣。萬乘之國弒其君者，必千乘之家；千乘之國弒其君者，必百乘之家。亅

Mencius said to him: "Why does the king  promote benefit-first? Benevolence and righteousness are important too......  When everybody from the top to the bottom fights for self-interest as the only purpose in life, the country will be in big problem.

Kings will be assassinated by their subordinates."

Everybody  from the upper circle to the lower level are fighting with each other for selfish interest (as their only purpose in life).

What-is-real in paradigms? plus: The Chick

 

Paradigm is human.... It is a  thinking limit created by human elders.

And paradigms are just like free prisons.   You are free,   you can go,  but sooner or later, you'll come back.

That's why some Western people  only accept Christian faith on their death beds. 

A free  prison  is just like the atmosphere.   Few can excape.  Whenever you need to think,  You need the support of your network.

What if the elders were wrong?

It is none of their business,  but your own.

Yet it is not important for individuals.

It is important for the politics of the country.

You need to think better than the elder.

Sometimes politics is a relation between countries.

There might be war or peace in most of the cases.

So it's important to know what your paradigms are.

My question has been started seven years ago.  It occurred to me that why the Europeans cannot be rich like before.

It's the beginning and end paradigm making them suffer.

Because there is no hope in such a paradigm.

Here we need to know what is hope.

Hope is not only individual wellbeing.

Hope is what we human beings as a whole can do for the future.

Hope is where we can go for the future.

Hope is not individual health.

Hope is a development for all  beings.

It is a concern that Chinese media is working hard to promote selfishness.   They said "Health is  most important". Does it mean  "Self is most important"?

The modern elder is creating a new paradigm for the Chinese.

The result is the same with the West.   It is taking away the hope of the Chinese.   When everyone is caring for himself,  there will be no hope for the country.

Paradigms can limit your growth. Paradigms can be the  failure of a country.

Europeans will not be rich again if they cannot get out from the old paradigm.

Chinese will not be rich if they accepted the paradigm of selfishness.

The Chick

Each chick, when first entering the world, has got only one mouthful of air.

A very smart Egyptian Prince Akhenaten discovered it.

He found that inside every egg, there was some air. Is there any egg without air inside? He examined every kind of eggs on earth. He had opened numerous eggs. Snakes, birds, turtles, and at one time, he found a large ostrich egg. He opened it without hesitation. All the eggs on earth, and all the eggs on earth he could found, have some air inside.

Why?

What is the use of this air?

Prince Akhenaten could not stop thinking.

The Prince believed this air is for the first breath of the chick.　

Someone has given you life, plus a mouthful of air, what are you going to do?

And Prince Akhenaten said, you must use all your strength because you have very limited sources for life.

There are warm and bright yellowish colors outside. The hopes are there. The chick must break the shell. They must break it. The shell, like a spell, could be hell if not broken. The chick has no thought, but only action, the action to peck. Peck and peck. Peck and peck. Once you have broken  the spell, you will find a world outside.

But happiness lasts for only a few moments only.

The chick discovered happiness has been gone.

The chick discovered that he has entered another shell. A cage is just like a larger shell.

The chick observed silently. This is a very big and crowded cage. Many of his cage-mates live here.

They are all very happy and noisy. They need to do only two things in the cage: Eating and sleeping. They always mock about the chick, saying that he doesn’t know how to enjoy. Good food, good sleep, what is there to complain about?

But the chick soon found out the ultimate truth here. He knew that sooner or later, he would share the same fate with all other chicks. People will come, and send them to the butchers.

Suddenly, some vague idea emerged in his mind: Why should I live here? What am I going to do? What am I staying here for?

These are the questions he could not answer. He wants to know more.

He dreamed to see the world, the unknown beautiful world.

He dreamed and dreamed. He wanted to have a little glimpse, only a little glimpse outside the large shell.

Other chicks laughed at him. They said it was an impossible dream.

How long has the time past? No one knows. But he had found a little crack in the cage. He had found an exit. He squeezed himself out. He had used all his might. He managed to fly to the roof. He could see the world now.

There was a very large plain, with unlimited view. It was the first time he could see sunshine. He saw the sky and other birds. A golden beam spread over the cloud, reaching the endless earth. And he has found the sunshine on his own body, too.

He turned his body, enjoying every inch of sunshine upon it.

He was so happy, he started singing. He sang loudly.

His song was an alarm, bringing in the man.

Within a few minutes, the man caught him. The man was about to send him to kitchen.

Other chicks were happy. 　

They said, this is what you choose for yourself.

But the chick said:

I have seen the world; have you seen the world?  Won't you be killed sooner or later also?

The story has a second ending.

The man felt puzzled. He thought, there must be something special about the chick. He did not kill the chick; instead, he made the chick a morning calling chick. He allowed the chick a position, made him stick to it. He wanted the chick to give him a wake-up call every day.

Stick to it? Now the chick could use his mind more freely then before. The chick would search for meaning, would he stay and stick to the chicken post?

The story has got a third ending.

The chick escaped the cage, without being caught, nor being made a morning calling chick. He has become a wild bird in the hills.

And the chick was running like hell.

The chick has no wings actually. His wings have not been grown fully.

He could only run, with his wings flapping behind. 　

He ran and ran. He ran and ran. Until the moment he could not breathe any more.

In a very secret hideaway, he inspected his wound. The mocking laughs have not been gone. He could still hear them. And his cage-mates were now having their free lunch. They reminded each other cautiously: Do not behave like the wild chick. They were so happy, and they all despised the chick. They called him names, the wild, the fly, etc. The more they laughed at the chick, the more secure they felt for themselves.

The chick decided to learn to fly. This was the only way out for chicks. There were no teachers around to teach him.

The method was to flap his wings. He flapped and flapped. He flapped and flapped. It was the very motion the chicks have long forgotten.

It took a very long time for people to realize:

The only way out is to try your best.

And finally, he could fly. He was no more a cage chick.

He was a bird. And a bird is not a chick.

He flew over the valleys, over the hills, over the fields. Under the morning sunshine, he was relaxed, and free.

From time to time, we saw beautiful feathers flapping above.

Why it is important to save Europe?

 

 

 

There will not be a good time for everyone, if Europe is not saved.

 

It is easier to save them from outside.

 

Because the Europeans are living inside their own paradigm.  They cannot see clearly from the inside.

 

Although the paradigm seems to be simple, but it is extremely difficult to remove it.

 

It seems that the paradigm is coming from a Christian faith.

 

Many people do not believe in religion but they cannot get away from the influence of the paradigm.

 

Anyone can say, “ Ok, I do not believe in the end of the world”. But personal views cannot remove the power of a paradigm. The paradigm current simply goes its own way. 

 

It is the total culture current which determines the total behavior of any country and Euorope.

 

The feeling of no future is everywhere.  The feeling of anti-wisdom is everywhere. Anyone could submerge in its own way of life, and the people are uncertain about life. Life is meaningless in such a sense.

 

The United States culture is not like the Europeans, but they are no better.  Their issue is to make money regardless of everything not concerned.  They will not care about all the rest. They will ruin themselves sooner than everyone.

 

The European Paradigm is from an Israel religion.  At first it was only a story about Genesis and the Apocalypse. Later it had become a paradigm about the beginning and end of time and space. Many scientists cannot avoid this misconception. They “believe” the beginning is a result of calculation. 

 

Jesus was the most important reformer of the Israeli religion, but he was inside the paradigm when he tried to lead the people to a new path of wisdom and love.

 

The paradigm has become even stronger after Christ.

 

Sorry I have to interrupt here a little,  as I need to explain the relations between a paradigm and a religion.

 

The issue starts from a question:

 

Why are there miracles in all religions?  It seems that all religions have got their own magical power,  which might have been given to them by  the unknown from the above. Yet all religions cannot be completely correct.  They are not omnipotent.  Although they can perform miracles sometimes.

 

If they are not omnipotent,   then they can be wrong  in guiding the path of humans. For example, Jesus and Buddha is the most talented of all and I love them from the deepest inside of my soul.

 

Yet Jesus was in the paradigm of the beginning and the end.  He was wise to dispute against the Old Testament  and the old form of the Israel religion by promotion of love rather than hate.  Yet he was working inside the paradigm of the old Jewish faith.

 

I do not know where does the  magical  power of the different religions come from.  Maybe they were all allowed by the unknown.

 

It could be an unknown secret for us human beings.  But the fact is  religions cannot avoid the influence of paradigms.  They were working inside paradigms. It's  complicated but I believe humans  with a sincere mind  can work it out sometimes later.

 

Now we must come back to the European problem.

 

One is that Europeans can be saved if they can come out of this paradigm.  

 

If you appreciate the wonderful  masterpieces of the Renaissance,  you'll see that they are under the influence of the paradigm of beginning and end.  Apocalypse is a major theme in their works.

 

And gradually the brilliant minds in the Renaissance have become  stubborn in doubts of the human reasoning power and created works of anti-wisdom.

 

And soon  human minds collapsed into materialistic corruption.

 

The question is, how can you change the deep-rooted paradigms in the other culture?

 

Please keep this question in your own mind.

 

It is extremely important.

 

If you can save your friend,  or if you can save your enemy, you will save yourself, you might not be aware that you are in danger, and you need to have a clear mind.

 

This is not a joke;  I trust you are sincere.

 

And the question remains. 

 

How are people from the other major culture to save Europe?

 

How?

And the answer could be positive.
