The following is an article I have written in 2021.  It is about the major conflict in the Western civilization.  To make it extremely simple,  the conflict is in the Old Testament and the New Testament of the Western Bible.

Jesus was the first one who understood  the major problem of the Western civilization.

The problem comes from an ancient bible story:

Humans need only to obey god.

It is a sin not to obey god.

Or you can put it  in another way:   It is a sin not to obey the priests.

And you will be a selected people to  occupy lands and drive away other people.

You're ordered to kill by the priests in the name of God.

Killings  were the major practice of humans by then.

A major concern of Jesus was to correct this idea.

Jesus had been avoiding painfully to criticize about the Old Testament.  He had proposed his idea about love, Yet he had not  try to eliminate the other side of love.   That's why his disciples had put the Old Testament and New Testament together in the same book. The two  Testaments were completely contradictory to each other,  yet they were both inside the bible.

To study the conflicts in the Western civilization,  first we need to study the theory of Jesus:

A difficult question:  What is love?

One of my friends had asked me what is love, and I answered him : 

"You knew it."

All of us knew what is love and it is not necessary to hide yourself and said you don't know. Though few can be sure about what is love. 

In my own understanding, Love is a bonding happened between the people who is working for a common goal: eg., a war.  War is an important place to learn love. 

The harder the fight, the stronger the bond. Some times the bonding is so strong that people are willing to sacrifice for the other people that they are willing to use up everything even their life and happiness.

Important is the goal. You would need a goal, and the goal must be noble and essential that you would like to achieve the goal at any cost. When you have a common goal, the bonding would be a natural feeling within your group. Sexual love is one of the feeling of the bonding if the loving parties do have a common goal among themselves. If they do not have this common goal, then the love is weak and cannot last long.   

What is a bonding?

It could be a signed contract or a pledge or an oath. Those are all external things. The real bonding is something happened within. You will know each other and you will feel each other. You don't need to say a word and your mind is shared. With the guidance of a shared mind you will act together like dancing. You will be acting within the rhythms and there is beauty among your love. Therefore, love is beautiful and love is a state of well-being that you need it always, though love is not an aim itself.

We can expect the bonding will be improved in the future because of the power of evolution. There must be some unknown connections between human beings. Now we know not much about it. But the connection will be much stronger in future. It is sure.

And we will be seeing a more difficult part about love. 

Jesus the ancient leader of the Western mind had said, you should love your enemy. And why should we love them? 

Do I have some inner bondings with my enemy, too? 

The answer is definitely yes. And it could be a deep secret about the Universe why there are positive and negative sides for everything. If you use a magnet to bond together two pieces of irons, you will have the different polars and the ends of polarities will go together. That is a fact and it is acceptable. What cannot be accepted is that you can never do away any one side of the polars. You can never "eliminate" the negative side, if you do think you are the positive and vice versa. You can only be sured that within your bonding, you will have them. You could avoid being together with the other polar but you cannot get rid of them. You both have the right to survive within the Universe. There are negative elements within your bonding and that is why you should love them, too. That meant if you ever tried to eliminate the other end, you will not be surviving.

Why the West is in a status without love?

 

Let us get started with the thought from Jesus who is the origin of the Western mind. Jesus was the sole leader in the West, other leaders like Plato and Socrates were secondary. 

Some of the Western people believed that one day Jesus will be back. Will Jesus be pleased with them?  

This question would have no meaning for some of the Western leaders. They regard Jesus as a historic figure, and they will not take his philosophy as a reference. Western culture has taken Jesus as an important mind leader for the past two millenniums. However, the teachings of Jesus were mostly ignored. Almost all teachings by Jesus had not been fulfilled. Jesus was betrayed not only by one disciple but most of his followers.

Western people had been in an inner conflict since then. They knew what ought to do but they wouldn't do it. Or they could'nt do it.

The question is why. If we cannot explain this puzzle today, more conflicts will be on its way to spread around the world. 

The major contribution of Jesus is the concept of love. Love was a concept not found in the older Greek culture. Love is not mentioned in the Fables of Aesop. Love is a new feeling for the younger generation since the Year 0001. Humans had come to a new era of love since that year. 

Why can’t people love each other? 

The first answer is politics.

 Western love is political and it is far from wisdom. And it would be a deep feeling of sadness that this trend is found in other parts of the world other than the West, and it has been growing since. 

Jesus had two most important thoughts in his lifetime. 

First is that he desires love more than rites (sacrifices). It means  church services is not important, but to love people is.

Why are people going to church? The first purpose should be to love each other while the secondary purpose is to perform the rites.

Religious people will say, to perform the rites is to worship God. Very well then. That means to worship God is not the first priority but to love people is. The most important thing is to love. However, people would doubt that if they were really worshipping God, if they were not loving people. Many of the Old Testaments, if you examine them in this context, you will find them completely wrong:

God will not ask Abraham to kill his son as to love is more important than obeying. 

And this is the idea of Jesus whom for some reason did not argue with the priests about the Old Testament. 

What is rites? 

If we put that in a modern language, rites is almost the same with politics. Politics has been the dictator for daily life in the West. Politics is the tool for self-interest.

There are politics everywhere: offices, schools, and families. Politics are same as the church rites.

People are not concerned to each other; they do not love each other. The rites eased their minds that they had done their duties. They go to church and do all the rites but they do not love people.

The essence of politics is very much the same as the ancient rites. People will do many things but they will not love each other.  

Love seemed to be a simple matter but the question is why can’t people love each other? Weren't them taught with a wrong message from the very beginning? It might be not. 

And then we had found the second important thought of Jesus. 

The reason why people cannot love each other is that they are not wise. 

Any one wise enough will understand the importance of loving each other.

 However, most people are lacking wisdom. Before his death Jesus had told his disciples that he would send a 'Spirit of Wisdom' to help people to reach truth. This thought about wisdom is neglected in the generation that follows. The purpose of human is not to seek wisdom but to seek material satisfaction. Jesus was betrayed since then. People had chosen politics and materials in the millenniums. 

And we would still ask a question why. Why can’t people pickup wisdom instead. 

And we need to take a note here that the so-called wisdom is not an aim of life. 

Wisdom is but a thinking ability only. It is a tool.  It is not the aim itself. If the cultures in the future take wisdom as an aim, they must be fooling themselves. The 'Spirit of Wisdom' could be a helper or a teacher, but it should not be an aim of the human beings. Church people took the 'Spirit of Wisdom' as God to worship cannot be the idea of Jesus. The concept of 'Trinity' may not be right. It were due to the military might of the early Romans that the concept was spreaded.  

And now we are facing a painful situation. If love is so important, why is it neglected? There must be a reason for it. 

The reason may be related to the course of evolution. Humans are living in a form of individual units for the past two millenniums. They must fight for their individualistic interests, no other will help them if they cannot help themselves. There are no true friends and all others are potential enemies. Capitalism is but a later form of the individual units. In the ancient times when there were no stock markets , people are working on their own survivals only. Love will not be prevailing in a self-centered and self-interest oriented status. It might not be the problem of political systems. People will not know what is politics then. It might be only a ‘pattern' of life in the ancient time. They did not know how to organize the whole community to help each other. They would live like animals and were working for the bread of tomorrow and that is all.  Humans had not been co-operative until recently when a co-operative thought is happening in a new situation other then the West.   

Humans are changing from a self-interested situation to a co-operative situation. And that could be the process of evolution. You will have love in a co-operative way of living. You will have hatred in a hostility way of living. Many of the Western thinkers were supporters of Jesus, however, it was due to this pattern of living that love had become impossible. And the teachings of Jesus will not be obeyed. It was completely dreadful when a nun who was respected by the world and her name was Mother Therea said there is no love in the United States. 

Will you say it is wrong for Jesus to preach love and wisdom if the way of living is self-centered? Of course it is not. The idea of love and wisdom may always be a hope.  The evolution process may be easier for humans with some guidance. When humans have learned to love and choose it as a basic attitude of life, they will be evolving better. 

We are evolving quickly. Many people thought that the course of evolution were slow. But it may not be the case. It will be happening very quickly. The patterns of living will not be the same, and the thoughts will not either. The bonding powers in human brains will be quickly improved. You will know what the others are thinking before they actually express it.  We are getting smarter and smarter and will be able to do many things in a co-operative pattern of life and more importantly, in love more than in politics. 

Love is more important than politics.*

Charismatic political  leaders such as Alexander the Great put politics second.

Charismatic religious leaders like Mother Teresa put rites second.

Why are all killings true in the old testament?

 

 All the killings in the Old testament were true and are true.

You type in the words "Old testament killings"  and you can search all these facts  from the Old testament immediately.

Those are the histories happened in the past and now.

And you will wonder  that  the killing orders might not be from god but  by military leaders.

They were humans.

If god had issue any orders about killings,  it could only be one line: "Thou shall not kill".  

The other killing orders were from humans.

They would drive away Canaanite and the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite from the rich  land of milk and honey with killings.  (Exodus:33)

Jesus had tried to correct their sin with love. And Jesus was killed too.

Those were orders not from god, but man.  Few would argue with them.   Because there were severe consequences and more killings.

They would swallow you alive.

They would take your land without mercy.

Humans will know what to do in future.

note:   There were huge demonstrations around the world against the killings. And many Hong Kong media were reluctant to report them.

What is the most urgent things to do in Gaza?

 

The world is witnessing a huge tragedy in Gaza now.

The world is seeing with their own eyes that millions of people are displaced from their country.

They lost every means to live on in this planet.

They have no food, no water, no electricity, and no fuel. 

 They have no exit way to go.

They are surrounded and  locked up.

Bombs are exploding upon their heads.

What is it? It is hell.

It is the result of human weakness.

It is the result of civilization incompetence.

It is more than a natural disaster.

There won't be so many people die at the same time like hurricane or  earthquake.

There were historical reasons for that.   Everyone will be very clear about them later.

But the urgent things to do right now is not talking.

Actions are the most important now.

It is more than a fate of a few million people in Gaza.

It is the fate of human.

If we are not doing anything,  we will all be end up in the same way.

Take action now.

What is the origin of the hatred between the West and the Jews?

 

What is the origin of the hatred between the West and the Jews?

I believe that the grievances between the West and the Jews may be due to the inner conflict between the Old and New Testaments.

This inner conflict may reflect two completely different cultural direction. 

 The Old Testament is one cultural direction, and the New Testament is another
cultural direction.

If this conjecture is correct, 
Western culture will always return to the direction of the New Testament in future .  they will give up their anti-intellectual materialistic tendencies, and they will  return to the way of love of  Jesus.

If so, the West will be in a new perspective to 
renew their  conflict with Jewish culture.  Although, this conflict may not necessarily be the source  of the Second World War, but the conflict is bound to happen.

President Obama, recently(2009) proposed a plan to renew Jews policy.  He called upon the Jews to exercise restraint.  It might be a beginning of a larger-scale cultural conflict in the future.  Those who are interested in the evolution of international culture will be watching.

From a cultural perspective, rather than a political perspective, the inherent differences of the two cultures are  worthy of study.

Some authors believe that the conflict between the two cultures began in the Middle Ages.  Samuel W. Mitcham, Jr. in "Why Hitler?"--The Genesis of the Nazi Reich pointed out that the Middle Ages was a time when witchcraft was prevalent.  Westerners at that time had a special  view of all cultures that were different from their own.
There were  great caution in  different clothes, different cultures as  a suspicious monster. And,  the Jews were  completely different from them.

Shakespeare once in the play "The Merchant of Venice",
denounces the Jews by the words  of a character: "Certainly the Jew is the very devil incarnal" 

The leader of the Protestant Church, Martin Luther,  published a pamphlet article: "Against the Jews
and their Lies” in 1543. He said: "Jews are nothing but thieves and robbers who daily eat no morsel and wear no thread of clothing which
they have not stolen and pilfered from us by means of their accursed usury....
(Jews) are our plague, our pestilence, and
our misfortune."

However,  the conflict might be from an even earlier history.

Money and interests are both external conflicts.  Are all people greedy loan sharks?  This is not intrinsic  culture
question.  Inherent problems in culture  may have occurred thousands of years ago in Old Testament times.

If we could really discern the inherent differences between the Old and New Testaments,
there will be more awareness about future cultural conflicts.

　　但是，李察相信，衝突來自更遠的地方。

　　如果我們真的能夠分辨舊約和新約的內在歧異，或者，對於未來的文化衝突，會有多一些的認知興趣的。

Why there are not enough time to think sometimes?

 

One important example is from Alexander the great. 

 When he was crossing a place somewhere  and  found his army has got no water left.   Everyone was  suffering from thirsty.  It was extremely dangerous moment for the army.

It was by this time someone came into his tant and  dedicated to him one bottle of water.

He took over the bottle and poured  the water on the ground  immediately.

He did not need to think it over and over again.

Why did he do that? There were lots of discussions in my  seminar class many years ago.

Everyone thought that he wasted the water.   Someone argued that he should have kept  the water for the wounded soldiers.

And I'm still thinking this episode until now.  

Will I be doing the same thing If I were him?

Do I need to think for a while?

If I need to think,   then I will not be in the level of Alexander the great.

If I am in his level,  I will see that is not a problem for individuals.  That is a problem for the whole army.

What do you need a bottle of water for the whole army? It was completely useless.

It is a simple question if you were in his level.

We are all goldfish in the glass tank.   We can only see the situation in the water. We cannot see it from the air.

 Once you could fly on the air and you can see it outside the water,  then you will be a genius like Alexander the great.

How can I be flying on the air? I need water.   This is the common thoughts for common folks.

Everyone needs money.   It is the same as the goldfish. The goldfish needs water and the common folk needs money. 

Once you find the reality of the things,  once you can see the  reality of levels,  once you can see that you do not need individual money,  what you need is the money for the whole country,  then you can fly. 

And you can see it in the air, not in the water.

You need not much time to think it over and over again.

You will  take action quickly.

And you will win.

Because you were in the upper level now.

What is the nature of the Modern Empire?

 

The nature of the Modern Empire is a lie.  

The lie is a belief that  thoughts could be elected.

The thoughts of a nation,  or the general  belief of a country, is a long term process of ideas from the culture itself.   It's the fruits of a tree.  It is not manufactured.   It is the result of a growth.   It is the life of a life.  It cannot be fabricated.   And it cannot be elected.    Elections could be manipulated.   But the worst of election is a fabricated belief.

And this is the most dangerous moment when people believed that they do have power over the country  and actually they were manipulated.   And they cannot bring the country to what they really wanted to go.   They could only be the slaves of the Empire,  and the Empire were the tool  of a few unknown secret people when the central power had been taken over by them.

They control everything. 

They control the leadership of the government,  and they control the mind.

And this situation could be a lasting long period for the next 300 years.

Could these few people good guys  who were working day and night for the Empire?

If they were good guys like angels  then the whole world  will be a peaceful heaven.

And it is impossible as they were building their empire on a lie.   They are evils not angles.

And now the whole world is forced to live together with these few evil people.  And people are forced to give up their own control, but to follow the evils.

And the following are some question not only for individuals  but all countries around the world:

What am I going to do?

Should  I work for the ill intentions for my whole life?

Should my country be a slave to this secret power?

Many choose to live with this ill  intention and coexist with them.  What about me?

And I shall remember that we are human souls, not human bodies.  Bodies will die,  but souls will live.  We shall be witnesses for the future.   We will be there to see and to live.  We shall overcome.

Do I know that they are not friends to live with, but evils which will swallow us alive?

What is the best strategy for us to choose to survive and to win finally?

The above are important questions for the next 300 years.  You and me will be there by then.

Complete failure is for those who do not know this deadly situation.

If people do not know the situation,  they could never have the knowledge about the intention of their enemy.

We are living with an unknown and powerful killer.

We ought to know the intention of him.

What is the hope of a nest of Left-Brained-Ants?

 

It is extremely difficult for you to persuade them to see into their dangerous situations.

It is because they are left- brained.  And  the left brainers would like to attend to details more than anything else.

     .

They had built their nest under a big tree near the river bank.

They would argue that this is the best place for their nest.

They will show you lots of details about the nest.

Because it was in a deep hole   5.26 meters under the ground,   and the nearby food source  were more than 11 and half locations.  And their numbers are  below 2071,  And it could be enough for them and the next generation etc.

 They are detail lovers,   and they are happy to offer you more details about their   situation.   No one can argue with them.

They can never give up the details and go up one  level to see into the reality.

They were in a river bank,  heavy rain will be coming soon.   Their secured  home will be submerged in the waters.

But they are left brainers,  and they are detail lovers,  They could never see things in a higher angle.

It was the same with the gold fish in the tank.   They could never leave the water to see.

What is the hope for left brainers?

Can they take your advice to see in a higher angle?

Yes if you could have a better education system.,  and if you have a better civilization background.

If you can make them to read two hours a day,  draw materials from the readings,  have some questions about the  scenario,  then perhaps they might change.

But one thing forbid them to change.  Because they are ambitious  to take over the leadership of the ants.   They would like to be your teacher, not your student.  

They will not and cannot change in such circumstances.

The only hope for them is the kindness of the nature.  That there won't be any weather change.  They will not be submerged in waters.

Can economy be a boost for economy's sake?

  

For the sake of  economy itself  couldn't be very helpful for the economy.

More important is for the need of the people.

The need is  important  for the economy.

It's just not only your own need,   but the need for the whole world.

What's the most urgent need for the country?

Some countries are running short of babies.  Population keeps shrinking, it is  the crisis of a  dying society.

Baby economy is important for them.   Wise young man can think out a method  to cater for the needs of a young woman to create a baby.

Next is the retired  economy. Old  people are always lonely and need help.  They need medical care and they need a better home.   It is a worldwide market.

And the Chinese style medical care is important. If you can have a better hospital,  people will travel from all around the world to come to China.

Education system needs to have more loopholes.   A perfect education system without loopholes can kill wisdom. When people are failed from examinations,  they need other ways to go.

When a music student failed from  examination,  the only waiting for him is to be a laborer most of the times.  Can he dedicated his talent for the need of the society? That means it needs a leniency.   And leniency can create hope.

But most important need is  wisdom.

Wisdom can not be manufactured,  you can only manufacture a  help for the wisdom.

How can you help people to invent something for the future?

They need encouragement, they need technical support, they need a living.  The pressure of basic necessities in a living  kills creativity always.

Economy for the sake of economy is the worst option to help economy.

What will happen in 30 years of time?

   

What will happen in 30 years of time? And this question reminds me of an old love story of the  ancient Chinese king. When he came back from the war after the years. He said,  everything was the same as before.  歸來池苑皆依舊,太液芙蓉未央柳.

He was so unlucky to witness the world has not been changing.

Now my question is, what will happen in the modern times.

What will happen in 30 years of times?

I can guarantee you one thing, it is the same as the old Chinese king. He said, everything is same as before. You'll say the same thing, if you can come back 30 years later.

What will happen in 30 years time?

The world has not been changing.

What has been changed was only the names.

You will not see the name Putin or Xi or Biden  anymore.  Or the only  exception is Kim,  he is much younger.

But it makes no difference if you can see him or not.

Because the world has not been changing.  The world will be going on its own old track.  And 30 years is only a split second of the millenniums.   We need thousands of years to be evolved  into a better species.

By the time we will be connected  in the mind, and we  will be much, much smarter than now.

Yes, I have used the word "we".

Although you will not see the names by then,  but they will be there same as you and me,

just to witness the world has not been changing.  Because we humans are not bodies, but souls. Souls will not die, They just change names. You will  not see the names 30 years later.  But they will be there to witness the unchanged world  same as you and me,  if you are also interested  to see the face of the world in 30 years of time.

Maybe I am too pessimistic. I ought not to think so. I need to be optimistic.

Because we are only fighting for external things.

And external things will not change the world.

What is the use of getting some part of your country back to you? If the secret party member is still there,  if the minds are still controlled by them secretly?

I have a very bad  anticipation. I believe the evils will be growing, and their method  will be growing from China to the world. It is the cheapest and easiest way to control minds and win wars.

It is only a short term history of mankind.  When people are really evolved into a better species,  this kind of phenomenon will be gone. When people are very smart and can think independently, and will not be secretly controlled by the secret party, and the world is changed.  

Hong kong was  a bad example of the  secret party control.  It was so easy to mobilize tens of thousands of people going to the streets when those people are not thinking on themselves.

What will happen in 30 years of time?

We need to see the world internally.  Though the internal changing of the world is slow,  but it is sure to change  internally for the long run.......

The old story of a love story of a king with an unending grief......

The grief had been lasting for a long time then people said it is the longest grief in China.

I love the poem since I was in my early teens.  Yet, I cannot understand the poem until a recent discovery.

It was in the night when my grandmother died and we had to move away from the old house because we could not pay the rent.

My brother and I had rented a small room far away in the suburbs.

We carried only a few things from the old house.  One was a large old clock.

I could not sleep that night,  and then I heard the strike of the clock once every hour.

Suddenly the line from the unending grief sprang into my mind.

遲遲鐘鼓初長夜。耿耿星河欲曙天。

I had my first unending night when the stars were burning the light and the hour was late with the clock striking.

It was only a simple love story.

The king was  crazily  in love for a woman,   and for political reasons,  he had to execute the woman.  And then he went for a war.

 When he came back from the war,  everything was the same as before, except people was getting old.  Yet his love had not been subsided.

椒房阿監青娥老

The eunuchs in the winter room with walls heavily covered with chili paste to keep warm were old, like the aged maids.

He was still accompanied by  eunuchs after the war.

What's it all about?  How come the poet can master Chinese  language so perfectly?  It was so beautiful that everyone cannot forget?

I was sitting in a park in Hong Kong island.  Some one turned on his radio,  I heard this poem again. 

My feeling of grief was suddenly aroused.

I cannot explain this feeling.

歸來池苑皆依舊。太液芙蓉未央柳。

When the king came back to his old palace,   the garden was same as before.  The trees and flowers had not changed.

What's the difference?

Why the emotion cannot be settled?

Everything was the same. Yet the beauty was gone.

It seems to be a lightning flashed into my mind.  

It's not a love story.  It must not be a love story.

It is the story of human emotions.

What the  king had been  searching was not a lady,   but the beauty itself.

He was not allowed to search for the beauty for political reasons,  He had to kill the beauty with his own hand.

Yet when he came back,  He tried  furiously to search for the beauty again.

But the beauty was gone forever.

In the emotions of the Chinese literature,  beauty is same with truth.  beauty is  together  with truth.   What the king had been searching were more than a single beauty.  It must be a complex feeling about everything.

Yes its cold description and its  more than cinema magic.  Every line is a picture., yet it is not a picture.  It seems to be a song,  Yet it is not a song. It is only a line. A line to fix into your mind. You have to read it many times.  You have to read it many years. AND THEN if you're lucky, you can see the author. You can see the poet. The Catholic Church have been wrong since the death of Jesus Christ. If Peter the early disciple of Jesus had denied Jesus three times, other disciples must have been denying him millions of times.

The early disciples were only followers of Jesus in the external words, but not the mind of Jesus Christ.

1. They never seek truth. Love without wisdom is not love. They denied the teaching of Jesus that the Spirit of Truth will be sent to assist the disciples to seek truth. The Catholic Church had turned themselves the suppressors of truth since ancient times.


2.  They  invented the concept of Trinity. It was because they  insisted the old concept of the old testament that God is one. One-God is not the main concern of Jesus. The early and recent disciples of the Catholic Church did not realized the inner teaching of Jesus, that the concept of the old Jewish tradition was wrong. That if they are to insist on attacking the heretic thoughts, and take every one not same as them enemies, then they were not successors of Jesus.

3.  They are running the Church according to the old tradition of the Jews. They force students in the Church to learn the bible in an external way. They did not or refuse to know that some of the Bible texts were misprinted or willfully altered in history.

4.  Jesus told the disciples not to address any one as father. However, there are so many fathers in the Church. And some of the fathers are pedophiles.

5. That to worship God is to get the benefits from God. They want blessings from God, but they neglect the teaching of Jesus: to worship God is to be merciful, not to offer sacrifices. And the material side of life is temporary. To seek the eternal value of life is more important. But they are not interested to know what is eternal life. 

Now the leaders in the Church are busy to handle numerous cases of pedophiles. However, they seldom or never dared to study the inner philosophical wrong of the Church. They were and they are running the Church in a wrong spirit. Yet they never dared to see into that.

I do hope Pope Francis can see into the real problems of the Church. And I hope he can turn a Church of Hypocrites into a Church of Jesus Christ. And I do hope he will not deny Jesus Christ like Peter had.

During the 2019 Turmoil in Hong Kong,   The Catholic Church had been actively helping the plot to overturn the Hong Kong Government under the leadership of the secret party and the United States.

                 

Why is the Typhoon Saola not so strong as Typhoon Mangkhut?

 

For the past two days, Hong Kong people have experienced  the  threat of Typhoon  Saola.

The Government of Hong Kong was well prepared. 

They have issued warnings and organized people before the typhoon arrives.

The midnight experience was unforgettable.

By the time of the arrival of the typhoon,   the wind was not so strong as expected.   And the sea level was not so high as  expected.

Some people had a doubt that may be the calculation was not so correct.

It might be a good experiment for the scientists to study.

I guess that there might be one missing element in the calculation.

Typhoon Mangkhut in 2018  was almost a direct hit  with a 45 degrees entering point to the South China coast.

But the Typhoon Saola was  parallel to the  South China coast.

It's not like a direct punch to the nose,  but a slap to the face.

Calculations could be different  under these two hitting directions.

The wind speed in the center of the typhoon was high.

But the feeling of the wind speed by the road side was not the same.  Because the total impact was not running towards you,   the typhoon was heading West, not entering Hong Kong.

The side-experienced  wind speed was not the same as the center of the wind speed.

There might be lots of uncertainties in this situation. 

The typhoon might change course to enter Hong Kong by the side.  Situations might be much worse.

Hong Kong is a lucky place to avoid this.

The well preparation of the Hong Kong government is important for any unexpected happenings.

I'm not a scientist.   I do not know how to calculate this complex situation.

It is a simple observation only.

I hope the  study of  typhoons could be improved further in the future.

今時今日的青年人，大約沒有人知道誰是瓦特。更不會知道，我們的電燈泡上寫著的，是六十瓦，還是一百瓦的那一個「瓦」字，就是瓦特的名字。


想當年，瓦特發明蒸汽機的故事，就像牛頓發現蘋果跌在地上那麼流行。還不容易嘛，水汽會把茶煲裡的蓋子揭開。是個簡易的原理。本來，這應該是每個孩子，特別是每個男孩子的故事。但今日的男孩子，通常只識打機，不會知道這樣的故事。


他們更加不會知道，這故事裡面蘊含的另一種另類的教訓。


以下是瓦特的小小資料：


瓦特是前後經歷了十五年才試製成功的。起初，他只是個實驗室儀器修理員。腦中己有了蒸汽機的意念，可惜欠缺資金，無法進行。很「偶然」的機會，他獲得一個工業家的支持，可惜在花費了不少錢之後失敗了。蒸汽不斷從活塞中漏出來。那時世上還未有不漏氣的活塞呢。工業家也不再支持他了。瓦特的命運也不好。家境困難，兄弟姊妹都死光了，連他的妻子，也在他實驗失敗後逝世了。他自己也身體不好，經常頭痛、、、。


這一類發明家的故事，其實是有相同公式的。


最初是有個很有朝氣的青年人，想到了一個點子。但是，沒有資金，無法進行。


後來有了資金，(瓦特不是非常幸運地，找到了一位工業家支持他嗎？)不過，這資金會很快用光。
瓦特弄得家破人亡，沒有人敢仿效他，當個窮困的發明家。


為甚麼資金很快用光？當然不是因為有人中飽私囊，而是技術不足。看，活塞的小小漏氣問題，竟然拖了他十幾年。為甚麼他只能在全無技術支援下苦幹？為甚麼社會竟然會容許這樣的事情發生？


因為，社會沒有想到，小小的漏氣問題，不是拖了瓦特個人十幾年，而是拖了整個社會十幾年。


我們可以把過去三百年的現代文明社會，更名為：非自覺的石油文明社會。


這個社會，過份依賴所謂「自由市場」，全無危機意識，從未能在整體著眼看問題。


　　如果今時今日，有相同的一個傻瓜青年，他想到了一種辦法，他想出了某種有效利用陽光的好主意，我們的社會，仍會像對待瓦特一樣的對待他。


　　資金？欠奉。


　　技術支援？從來沒有。


　　他只能像瓦特一樣，傾家蕩產，家破人亡。


　　更如果，這青年人只是像李察之類的思想者，他看到的只是一種理論，社會更加會用盡方法，禁制他的思想傳播。因為，非自覺的石油文明，特徵是「保
守」。他們覺得，陌生的思想，都是危險的。要完全剷除這樣的思想。(多年來，誰能在書店裡買得到李察的書？書店都不肯賣他的書的。(*秘密黨的勢力，到2023年都從未消退，只是隱藏得更好。)

我們的社會能夠以一百億元為單位，任意投放於不同的項目之中，但從未曾切實想過，我們的知識網絡，已經太過殘舊，需要更新。
