What is love
I don't know whether the Chinese are right or not, they have separated the word "love" into two.
One kind of love is the general feeling of human beings, and the other kind of love is something happened between a male and a female.
The average Chinese will not mix up the two.
But in the Western language like English, love is a single word. They don't care the feeling happened between a man and a woman or the love feeling around everywhere.
It is strange if you can only love your lover but not others. I don't know how can that kind of love be real if you don't have a feeling among others.
The separation of love in China happened only recently.
The term 愛情(Àiqíng) was invented may be only after the May 4th movement in 1919.
Before that, love 愛(ài) is the only word to express feelings among humans.
If every human being is a unique being, and if the unique being can be expressed in a long string of unending formulas plus numbers plus alphabets, etc., then, 愛情(Àiqíng) or "passionate love" is a combination of the two strings.
What will happen if all the strings were combined together?
And it is only an imagination. It will not happen. Don't worry.
What is love?
Can you use an external formula to express love?
Of course you cannot.
Love is an inner spiritual feeling that you can feel it.
But the other kind of inner spiritual feeling is hard to find.
It will be a complete revolutionary explosion in science, if you can separate the inner spiritual energy and use it.
It's like flying without wings.
It's like flying with energy from your mind.
What is love?
Love is an energy we humans cannot define.
But love is there always, even though we cannot know what is it and where is it.
