Why humans are not even searching?

The term "searching" was used by some later  intellectuals.   They thought they are searching for something.   It might not be the mind in the early humans.  Then what are we humans for?   I think it is still a highest secret for us all.

What are we living for?  What is our purpose?

A thought occurred to me:

We are not even searching for happiness.

Happiness is only a modern term. A baby will not know what is happiness. A baby has only some basic necessities in life. A baby will not know what he is living for. And so are we. It is exactly the same as a tree on the roadside. The tree will not know what he is living for. But he is working hard to gain water, sunshine and to live on.   It is an urge given to him. It is by born.  It is not asquired.

Therefore it is only a faith.

A faith is not necessarily religious. It might only be a temporary thought.  You think you are living for something.   And you can also think that you are not living for something.

Then what are you living for?

You can determine your own way of living.

You can only say it.

And it is yours,  it will be yours.

If humans want to live for a certain goal or purpose in life,   they are free to do it.

It means you are free.

And you can always ask:   What do I have?  Where am I going?

It is very basic.

We have a term for it:

It is the beginning of consciousness.

And it is only the beginning.

Because it is only in the minds of a few.

Very few people have it.

And the worst case is:   People do not share what they have in their thoughts.  They thought they are the higher class and they are not willing to share it with other people. They think they knew it, but they are not sharing with you.

By checking your own happiness, you will know what you want in your life.

What is the happiest moment in my life?

However, it needs to know the difference between the real happiness and not real happiness.

No one can define for you what is real happiness.  Only you can know it.

When I was a little kid, I was in a poor family.   We need to struggle for the food for tomorrow almost everyday.   By the time my father was working far away in Hong Kong and I was in Macao,   living with my grandma,  because my mother was dead already.

One day when I was clearing the old stuff in my living place, that was a dark room without window, I found a hundred dollar note suddenly.  I was so happy it seems all problems of our family was gone. It was never in my life to see a bank note in such an amount. I sat down to take a paper to write immediately to my father,  telling him the sudden wealth and was extremely happy that our fate of poverty had ended.  Soon  I got a reply from my father, he told me that was the money when every thing was in a chaos when my mother was serious sick by then.  And he told me how to handle the money and how to use it for the coming days.

Can money be a real source of happiness?

I think it can be judged by those who have it.

Material need is on the first level in your life.  There are so many levels on top of it.   Any one can try them one by one.   From the basic level of survival money to the higher level to your fame and achievement.   And there will be more levels above your achievement.   Until one day you find it is not enough still.   You are still searching for an unknown happiness ahead of you.

And it is a long way without end. 

It is important to have a goal ahead of you without end....... It will be a tragic moment if you find it is really the end.  In the long long time of your life, you will learn where to search for your real goal.

And it will not be your "safe lodging"(歸宿).   

It is the difference of the Chinese culture and the West.   But a safe lodging concept is not enough.   It is for the self and only for the self.   A more happy moment is in the dedication of one's effort.

Because the dedication is real.  The dedication is for everyone.   Your true happiness will be there forever.

And happiness can be given away.   When you try to make other people happy,  forgetting about your own situation........you will have it.

Happiness is in somewhere else other than money. 

Although few can refuse the help of money. And people will be happy if they are rich suddenly.  However, the situation cannot be determined only by money.  There is many other issues besides money. 

It is sure if someone finds his life meaningful,  he will be happy.

What is meaningful?

No other people can tell you what is meaningful but yourself.   If you think it's meaningful and it is.

Because you are the boss of your own life.

Many people cannot trust themselves.   They must wait for other people to tell them what is what.  They cannot think independently.   They cannot know they will be happy if they thought so.

It is so simple yet many people cannot know it is really simple.

Yes, you will be happy if you think you are.

Then you'll be happier and happier.

I just finished watching a video speech by an AI expert in an American university.   he seems to be a Chinese in blood, but he is totally American.

He was excited about the AI development in the States. He encouraged his students to keep on  AI study.  It is understandable.

But it seems to be a complete dominance in the brains of the American intellectuals:   There is nothing else except technology.

They will not care anything outside the sphere of  their eyesight.

It is all because of the AI can push American economy.    The real meaning is that:  It's all about money.

No one can neglect AI.   It is the backbone of modern economy.   But a bone cannot support your whole life.    You need to have a heart and many things else.   It is utterly meaningless to fight with skeletons  in a heartless world of deserts.

But you need to do that anyway,  if the heartless trend is going on like this,  planes, submarines and tanks will be in your door steps.

It needs to be a truly human to stand against all that.

Almost none of the productions in the past few decades can reach the height of the original version of the Swan Lake. The only best version was a performance by Anthony Dowell and Natalia Makarova. You can view it from YouTube: “Swan Lake Makarova Dowell”.

The story is simple, yet few can understand. 

The Princess was bewitched by the Devil, turning her into a slave swan. The Prince wanted to shoot the Devil to save the Princess, however, the Princess used her body to stop the shooting. She told him that if the Devil is dead then the spell will never be broken, and she would remain a slave swan forever. The spell is that the Princess must find a true love. If she can find one, then the spell will be broken. 

Almost none of the productions in the long years can understand this point. They thought it is easy to break the spell. They would stage a scene to let the Prince fight with the Devil and it happened in almost all the productions that it is easy for the Prince to kill the devil with his external muscle. 

They do not know what is true love. 

In the original version, the Princess finally jumped into the cliff and the Prince followed immediately. It was in this moment the mind of the two was shown and the Devil felt to his final death on the stage floor, as the spell is finally broken. May be the jumping is not acceptable to many and they cannot find another scenario to show what is true love. And it is very strange once they cannot know what is true love, the whole production would become tasteless and the other dances and music in the production would be mediocre. 

The question is can you kill the devils by putting them into jail?

And it is not easy to “educate” the new generation about what is true love.

Many cannot even “love” anyone in this material world. They know only to “own” someone and chase after material life.

However, we have found that the scenario is changing. 

Humans are changing in the human evolution.

Humans are changing from a state of self-interest to a state of mutual cooperation. 

It is the basic difference of Capitalism and Socialism. Though the world is complicated and many different thoughts appeared, but the trend is here. We humans are changing from a selfish mindset to a total mindset. Humans need to cooperate more than war. It is not easy to predict how long the process will last and what would happen during the evolution stages. However, one would easily know the direction of the human progress. 

Yet the most difficult part is you will not know who is the devil. They are all hidden and disguised. And you need to fight with them. They would take over your country and sell it. Human evolution had to suffer such setbacks sometimes. History will not be easy and straightforward.

And the Swan Lake has a clue. 

The only tool to fight with the devil is “True Love”.

What is “True Love” then? 

We human beings are evolving from a status of selfishness to a status of mutual cooperation. 

And true love needs to completely understand life. 

Life is not material posession but dedication. 

Life is not to bully, to loot, to fight for personal interest. Life is to give, to work, to help, to love.

When all these had become a norm for this and next generations, the devil will be gone. 

We are living in a material and filthy society, there are lots of place for the devils to hide. They can hide decades and decades waiting for a time to overturn the country. 

Our first question is why the Swan Lake is so difficult to understand. 

Now we have the second question: Why true love is so difficult to understand? 

If we can understand life which is not difficult, we would definitely know what is true love. And we would win the war with the hidden devils.

For example,  the teacher of a small school.  He has 1000 student to handle.  And its not very difficult for him.  He can even visit the homes of the students.

Now he is the chief of 1000 schools.  He has one million students to handle.  And later he become the education chief of a country.  He needs to care about a thousand million students.

He is a teacher no more.

The calculation was 1:1000 at first.

Now it is 1:1000000000.....

Can he still talk heartilly with each student and their parents?

It is impossible, and reasonable.

Miracles did happen.

He can still reach each student's heart.

Why Russia is important?

Russia is the only country which covers the East and the West.

Russia is an Eastern country, yet it is also a Western country.

Russia is politically important.

And Russia is important in culture.

The spirit of love is better expressed in the literature works of Russia.   No other literature works from Western Europe can compare with Tchaikoski or Tolstoy,  not to mention Dostoevsky (陀思妥耶夫斯基). The depth of human nature in literature and music is a source to study Russia.

Does it mean literature is the only measurement of a nation?

The insight of Tolstoy and Tchaikovsky is not deniable.   They can tell you more about the nature of a nation than anything else.

The world needs a quiet inspection of minds.

The US people  are left brain oriented,  while Chinese are right brain oriented.

To make it simple, we can put it in another way:

The United States people are more logical,  while the Chinese people are more intuitional.

The above observation might need a long term study.   For the time being, we could have a first impression about their behaviour.

Languages are only the first issues of the brain function.   Because we are not thinking in languages only.

It could be more easy if we use only languages to think.

The case is that we are thinking in a more subtle way,  more than any languages can express.

When we think, there could be no language and no diagrams and no voices and no movements in our thoughts.   You can express your conclusion in language.  It is only a result from your thought.  Languages cannot express all the details in your thought.

And you cannot say the Chinese uses only the right brain,  and the United States people uses only  the left brain.   It could be absurd.

You can only observe the style or inclination from their expressions.

A writer is always hungry.   He is hungry about everything. He takes in lots of materials,  and then he examines his material and cooks them.   When he finished cooking he will produce the material like an art work.  

The most dangerous moment is when he is satisfied with his own work.  

When he is happy with his work, he will not produce anything more,  or anything new.

The American writer Ernest Hemingway died this way.   He used a double-barrel shotgun to shoot at his own mouth.   His wife was in the second floor when she came down for the huge sound, she found his head was blown away with a headless body on the floor of blood.

Ernest Hemingway was famous for his strong character.   He likes to write about how he fight.

I always remember his work: "Old man and the sea".

When he came back to his home after a fierce fighting with the sharks on the sea,  the sharks had eaten all his capture and he could only bring back home the bone of a large fish he had caught.  He was too tired to lie on his bed with his back facing upwards, leaving a moment for the readers to feel the tremours of his fighting.

Many leaders are the same.

Concerns are for economies only.    They are looking at money more than anything else.

It is extremely disappointing.

We are more than a tiny spot in the unlimited universe.

Maybe the concept of an "Unlimited universe " is wrong.   But it doesn't matter whether it is wrong or not.

We are actually very small to compare with the whole universe.

But it is a most important event in the universe that humans are born.  The universe will be truly alive with humans in it.   It is utmost important.

If you travel in the dark universe for a thousand years,  you will find nothing alive in it.   It was like a completely bare dessert.   But suddenly you find something strange in the desert.  It is a tiny spot of life.   And the spot of life can grow. 

How important is this tiny spot of human in the universe?

If you are the owner of this universe, you'll be happy.

Because you have suddenly find a chance in this universe.

What is this chance?

It is hope,  maybe.

It is a possibility to grow for this universe.  And it is wonderful.

How important are we in this universe?

It could be extremely important.  

Because we are living being.   We can produce a future for this universe.

The above question is meaningless.   Of course, no one will know what he doesn't know.   It is only a strange logic of things.   I do not know what I don't know. I do not have what I dont have.......

But is it really so?

This is the bad experience of many people in need.  They search into their wallet and they search into their bank account,  hoping something unexpected can happen.

And this is the real nature of human situation.

You might find something really valuable in your unknown account.

Humans do not know many things.

Don't you know how small we are?

This kind of situation cannot be counted by any kind of  mathematical method.

You cannot calculate the size of the universe and calculate the size of your body and make a comparison.

The proportion scale  seems to be unlimited and it is meaningless.

Yet we ought to know how small we are.

This afternoon when I was eating a mouthful of chicken meat,  the thought occurred to me suddenly. 

I used to eat chicken meat like this:  I will take away the fried skin and eat only the inner content of the plain chicken meat.   It was completely tasteless.  It was only meat and protein.  Maybe the taste was only in the external fried skin. 

What does it like to eat this chicken meat?   It is not like a mouthful of flour.   It is nothing but chewing. 

You are chewing not meat but a kind of soft plastic.

It was lucky I have a glass of coke with me.   I just washed down the meat with the coke.  Just like flushing it away.

I thought I hate to eat like this.   But it is never an issue in my life.  I am not particularly keen on eating.   It is ok if I can finish it.

What does it mean? 

It seems it is life.   When life is tasteless, it would be like this.

But your life will never be tasteless like this.

You have all sorts of taste in your life.  You can put in salt and you can put in soy sauce and you can put in oil and you can put in sugar to make it colorful and wonderful.

But the inner content is a mouthful of tasteless plain meat.

When you are eating good food, you think you are a king.   When you are eating bad food, you think you are a begger.

Am I a king or a beggar?

Sure I am a beggar.

And now I can tell you how small I am.   Because I have the true feeling of a beggar.

If you cannot know how small you are, you will never know how big is the universe.

Now you have the calculation and the comparison.

And so what!

You are only a tiny dot like a dust on the ground.

You cannot be seen by anyone but yourself.

Don't you think Julius Caesar is great?

No, he is the same.

Why suffering seems unavoidable sometimes?

 I was trying to write something, when I marked the date "May 13" on my screen.

Actually, before I tried to write anything, my mind was uneasy and disturbed.

Old tragic family sufferings kept coming back to my memory before I marked the date on my script.

My mother had an early death on that day.   I was eleven and she was fifty years old when she died.

And I was under the care of my grandmother since.

I was a bad boy by then. 

My school kicked me out when I was 13.   I did all the bad things in the eyes of the teachers by then. They didn't want me anymore and then they threw me away.

I managed to find another school thanks to the bad  economy situation when schools only need you to pay school fees.  I had a place luckily in another school.  And then I determined to make up my studies and behave myself.

It was like a nightmare gradually fading away.

But my question appeared:

Why sufferings are unavoidable for some people but not all?

Suffering was a blessing too.

If I have never suffered,   I will not have made up my mind.   Maybe I'll be the same as any other office workers working on the high-rising buildings in Hong Kong.  I will not see the scenery differently.

Sufferings are good to me.

I suffered more than ever afterwards.

It was from the oppressions of the underground secret party in China and Hong Kong.

It seems they have a power to put different people in different positions.   They have a secret network trying to control China.  They have tried to kill me many times.  If I were silenced,  maybe their secret  control will be more smooth.

All I can believe is that China will be still rising.  The rise of a modern China is a historical trend. Some people might die for it, but it cannot stop the rising movement of a culture, even with the huge opposition power from an undeground, and foreign controlled party.

The sun will be rising every day, still.

It needs to quest always.  

Life will be like animal without question.

When you have a question, you have an aim.

If you don't have question, you need to follow.

If you want to ask question,  ask yourself first.

External help is not very helpful always.

Do not rely on them.

Maybe there is another term for the secret of beauty.   Maybe it is not  beauty at all.   It is another thing confused with beauty.   Humans have not invented a name for it.

So we can use the word "beauty" temporary only.

In the story of Xi Shi,  we might have a glimpse of it.

The story is famous in Chinese culture.

It was a struggle to the extreme.  King Goujian was in an extremely state of mind that he was willing to taste  the poop or excrement of King Fuchai to gain his trust.  And he sent Xi Shi  to please King Fuchai.

No one can do such things in other history.  It happened only in China.  And then it came the believe that Xi Shi was the most beautiful woman.

What is the sense of beauty? 

It must be the result of a serious hardship and an non-human determination.

When you have found beauty,  you are in heaven:  it is not necesary sad things of dying,  but it is extremely rare.  

It is not for everyone.

Beauty is not for everyone.

What is beauty?

Beauty is not necessary a woman.   Beauty is a very special experience.   if you have found it,  you will have a feeling in heaven.   And it is not for everybody,   it is only for a privileged few.   Most  people never know what is beauty in their whole life.   I've seen only one of my elder who had found it in her death bed.

Beauty is a special feeling that you can find it when you are granted.   Most people mixed up the feeling of happiness and beauty.  Happiness is external.  When you eat something and when you saw something, you feel happy.   But the feeling of beauty is the feeling when you found you were actually in heaven.  Wow, you are not dead but you felt that feeling in heaven.

In my whole life I have it only once.   That was a time when I was in a very common  sports field, although the scenery is good.   I was listening to a piece of music of Bach.   And I found I was actually in heaven.   I tried to listen to the same piece of music again and again.   But it never came again.  It was only once in a lifetime.  And I felt deeply thankful for that.  And I felt thankful for my enemies,   if they were not striking me so hard.  I might never have come to the same feeling.   The peaceful feeling after a war is beauty.   It might be more, but I cannot say that. 

Next time, if you have found beauty,  your feeling might be the same.

It needs effort.  Because there might be a time, all the world will be locked up.

For example, here we have two concepts:  One is me, the other is a cat.

If someone keep saying "I am a cat" for a long time,   then a psychological mind-lock will be created.  The guy will believe he is a cat.

The same is a modern trend.

If people say in their mind:  " I am for money ".

Then his goal is only for money, but not anything else.

He will not see the things behind money.

He will do anything for money.   He will be a gambler,  he will be a cheater,  he will do anything against human nature.

It is very common in the modern world.

He will not see the beauty of anything,   he will not search the mystery of science.  He will not have interest in anything.

He will not be happy unless he finds money.

He is boring but he will not know it himself.  And of course he will not love.

All the wars in the modern world is coming from this deadlock.   This deadlock is like a heavy bonding,   It locks up the mind in a deadly formular. And the brains are like working in a formula of railway.  Thoughts can only be fitted into the  railway like a train.

How can a dead lock lock up a human mind?

Yes, it is a simple formula:   "My purpose of life is money."

It is like a strange electronic device that can lock-up a mind.

The device is very simple, but absolutely strong. All thoughts can put into this deadlock formula:  That the only purpose of life is money.

It is simple yet unescapable.

What is "unescapable"?

When the only aim of life is for money, than the person with this aim is  unexcapable.   He could only go one way,   He will not have love,  He will not have passion,  He cannot enjoy beautiful things.  His life is simple with one purpose only.   He is only working for money.

The complex of a person is easier to heal, but the complex of a nation is in its culture.

When the culture goes wrong, everything is wrong.

What is the difference between internal and external?

I was busy cleaning the wheels of my car on the roadside.   It was a cloudy day without hot sunshine.  I bent my knee and lower my body to clean it. 

Suddenly I felt something special.  I didn't know where did this feeling come from.    It was only a thought occurred to me afterwards.   I have never thought of anything on that special moment. I just feel strange.

So I turned my head to the other side.

I saw a man pointing his mobile camera at me.

I felt uneasy and stand up,  looking at the man.

I saw the man quickly hide his mobile in his pocket.  It proofed he was intentional.

I didn't know why he need to shoot me with his mobile.

If he was shooting me with a gun,  can I have enough time to excape?

I kept thinking of the same moment again and again,  rewinding it in my mind.

I wish to know if I was too slow.   If t it was a gun, he might need one or two seconds to aim and I might have a time to excape the bullet.

....

But the point is not here.

The point is your feeling and your timing.

Some people might never had known it happened.  You give him one minute or two minutes are meaningless.  

But if you do have that feeling,  if you can foresee something special,  you might have a chance.

Where is that feeling coming from?

A general idea is like this:  you need to be alerted at all times.

If you are too alerted,  you don't need someone to kill you.   You'll be dead already.

Important is to have a feeling at the right time.

And that feeling is in-between your internal and external feelings.
