What is the fate of the Chinese language?
The fate of the Chinese language might be longer than politics.
Politics is an important issue to determine the fate of a language. But the result might be coming from the opposite side.
Politics is always a short term thing.
The Chinese politics has last for a few thousand years. But the Chinese language might be longer.
To take the English as an example, you can find out interesting points.
If there is no more United Kingdom in the future, or if there is no more United States in the future, do you think the English language will survive?
Maybe not.
Because spelling languages will change its spelling.
No one can predict how would they change.
There might be a time without English language, but there will not be a time without Chinese language.
It is the fate of the Chinese language which determines its life span.
Because the Chinese language need not spelling.
You can reform it, you can simplify it, but you cannot destroy it.
Until one day the language survives, and political entities will also be survived by it.
The Chinese language has the real essence of survival by itself.
If the language can survive, the country will also survive. It is called: 文存則政存.
