A poem 2026

 20260216

老髮微增曲處多

人間無奈歲月何

借取當年舊相片

回憶想望那當初

青春笑語舊生哥

樂趣未減歡聲播

還我從前太子道

大搖小擺慢步過

Hair thin with age, more curves appear,

Yet what can time do, year by year?

I take an old photo from the past,

To recall the days that couldn't last.

Youthful laughter, schoolmates of old,

Joy undiminished, stories told.

Give me back Prince Edward Road of yore,

Where I strolled slowly, as before.

note

Yore is an old-fashioned or poetic word that means "long ago" or "former times."

It is often used in the phrase "of yore," as in:

"in days of yore" → meaning "in days long past."

In the poem, "Prince Edward Road of yore" refers to the way that road used to be in the past, evoking nostalgia for earlier times.
