Will the culture of China be different in 10 years time?

If it is not China, if it is the United States,   the answer will be obvious no.

The United States will not change in 10 years time.  They will remain the same for the next 50 years or so.   I hope it is not too disappointing for the people of the United States.

But China will not be the same.  There will be lots of changes in China.

I expect the Chinese language will be returning to its traditional form.  Because it is easier to read and write in the computer using the traditional form of Chinese.  The only interference is from politics itself.  Politics is always a backward pushing power.

Will there be other changes other than language?

Can they have a shift in music and literature?  I'm afraid the answer is no.

Would that be a lift in science and technology?  I'm sure the answer is yes.

You can expect the Chinese will be losing balance in 10 years time.

They will be rich and very rich in materials.  They will be poor and very poor in spirits.

Please mark the date. 

It will happen in 10 years time:  if nothing is to be done to prevent such things happen,  the unbalance of China will push the world going to a more unbalanced state.  

And unexpected things could happen in such a broken balance.

The culture of China will not be much different, but the outcome of a future culture could break all the balance.

Will there be a war?

May be and may not be.

But the broken balance of a culture could easily push everything into a dangerous chaos situation:  with or without a war.

Why qi study is slow?

To compare with electricity,  qi is very slow.

Electricity is a revolution.   Everyone was excited when it was first discovered.

But qi has got a response of "so what".

People heard it and turned their heads away.

It is not stimulating and it is not exciting.

Not very long ago,  people had found the  importance of oxygen.   But qi can never be comparable with oxygen.  

Maybe it is more subtle than electricity. 

It is not easy to explain "qi".

Many people can feel it,   but few can explain it. 

And it is not useful outside the human body. 

I hope future people can tell us more about that.

Lots of people are studying about it, but important findings, if there are many..... are not easily seen.

The title is wrong.   Qi cannot make you a good singer.   Qi can only give you a good voice.

It is interesting to find it different,   just like a piano is not the same as a pianist.   What a pianist needs is a piano.   If a pianist do not have a piano,  the pianist cannot make any music.

It is a very simple matter.

The point is why.

Why qi can give you a good voice?

The qi can arrived your chest and your head to produce a sound.  It is the force you can have in your whole body.   It is the strength to push out a song.

If you want to sing well you need to learn how to bark like a dog.    The barking is from the dog's whole body.   The barking  is pushed out by inner energy.   The barking is not from the mouth.   If you can bark like a dog,  you might have the voice to sing a good song.

Qi can be seen in many places.  For example,  hand writings.  A strong calligraphy can show its strength of qi.  

What is the meaning of 一氣呵成 (Completed in one strike of qi)?

Something is pushing from within.

You'll be successful if you have it.

You will need a lifetime if you want to master it.

To have a full utilization of qi,  it needs time, and talents.

Why Qi is not air?

In Chinese language, the two words are the same.

They are not the same in English.   Although there is no "qi" in older English, "qi" is a new English word.

However, it is  important to know the difference.

It is easier to understand what is air.

But if you need to define qi clearly,  I thought most of the dictionaries couldn't help.

Many can feel it, but few can define it.

It is still a miracle in human experiences.

Qi is definitely not air.

If qi is air,  human body will be blown up easily.

Qi is more than that.

I hope modern scientists can explain it clearly for us.   Because if they can explain it,  they might be able to make it.

Strange is: even though few can explain it, but it can be used in many areas.

You can write better,  sing better, walk better, run better........and most important of all:  you might be able to think better and live longer.....with the help of "qi".

It is a simple matter, but it cannot be realized fully.

Strong one will become stronger and stronger if all resources from the weak are robbed.

Soon the situation will become unmanageable.

Venezuela and Iran are not simple issues.

It is an obvious quick change.

If resources are accumulated in one single power, that power will dominate all the rest.

Situation will come even faster if Greenland is occupied.

Development of international relation is happenning unexpectedly.  It is a threat to all.

Sometimes,  a loudly voiced shout will stop the dog from attacking.

Can you find something to replace electricity?

It will be a sudden explosion of the human mind in the near future if they have found something to replace electricity.

But the point is not the "thing" they are going to  discover.

The nearest thing alongside electricity is "qi", I think.

But "qi" might be out of the question.

It will be a waste of time if you are putting lots of efforts into the "qi "study.

Because "qi"cannot leave the human body - its only my own observation.   And I hope some people can discover more.

"qi" could be a trap for scientists.

If qi cannot leave the human body, it would be useless in other field.

And the point  is not in the new energy.

The point is in the finding itself.

Has it been started?

Maybe not.

I hope some discovery can be found by someone, somewhere,  in some remote areas......

As soon as possible.

And I hope some rich people can offer a prize, a bigger prize for the  encouragement  of a new finding.

Do the Chinese know that they are mostly right- brainers?

As far as I am concerned,  the answer is no.

And the answer is not from a full investigation.  But I personally believe it is true.

Most people will not know the difference between a left brain and a right brain.

Only a few people know about it.   But it is useless for the population.

Awareness is important.

If there is no awareness, there will be no action.

Do you know you are a right brainer more than a left brainer?

If you know it, you can fully utilize your own brain.

If you know it, you can easily understand the people around you.

You can search deeply into their mind to know their motivation and their limit.

The theory about the left or right brain has been established almost 50 years.

But it is not a popular culture.

It is only the observation of a few.

And I don't know how long it needs to wait.

Progress will not be made without a fully awareness of the brain.

I hope I'm wrong.

莊子發現了思維的何種規律？

　　三年前，當李察完成《莊子原著和莊子原理》一

書的時候，一直無法出版，只能放在網上，與讀者見

面。今天才發覺，這書無法出版，是一種幸運。因為，

三年前的李察疏忽大意，未能看出莊子寫作「渾沌故

事」的用意，錯以為這篇文章是偽作。幸運是出版的

困難，使李察有機會一再反思，發覺錯誤之餘，更發

覺了莊子思維中更加深入的另一個層次。所以，還是

要多謝各種困難與橫逆才對。如果諸事順利，莊子的

真相，必定更難被世人知道。

　

　　其實，分辨文章真偽，有一個最直接的方法：真

的作品，通常極美。而「美」是無法假冒的。「渾沌

故事」之美，李察竟然錯過了。這一個錯誤，也是有

原因的。因為，當時的對立想法太強，以為偽莊子反

對求知，主張以順物自然的方式，統治天下。而渾沌

故事中，好像主張反對「開竅」，不是假的是甚麼？

這樣一想，故事中本來的美，也沒有考慮到了。其實，

倘能把文章從偽莊子的「應帝王」篇中抽出來，獨立

觀看，嚴格排除對立思維的影響，或者不會犯這一個

錯誤。偽莊子的岐路是甚麼都政治化。所以，偽莊子

也不可能了解：為甚麼渾沌不需要使用感覺器官。這

一點，是需要離開政治的狹窄見解，才能看見的。

　

　　西方世界，要到了弗洛依德出現，才發現了「潛

意識」，又要等到了二十世紀六十年代，才發現了左

腦和右腦的分別。而莊子的貢獻，當然是沒有這樣具

體。他只是發現了，在思想的時候，有兩種不同機制。

一種是需要使用感覺器官的，另一種是不需要使用感

覺器官的。這一個不使用感覺器官的機制，莊子用了

一個「中央之神」去象徵。表面看，這是很簡單的故

事。但深入去看，就看到，莊子的創見，比東方西方

所有的人，都早了兩千年。

　

　　而這一個思想，是跟莊子的其他文章，互相呼應

的。「以神遇不以目視」中的「神」，就是「渾沌」。

　

　　在「李察講的莊子故事」中，李察加了一些枝葉，

希望故事的內容，更加清晰一些。而莊子原文中，的

確是只有南方、北方和中央三位神仙。好像是莊子一

早已經知道了，將來是會有東方西方的其他神仙，同

來參與遊戲的。

　

　　至於在故事中加上了Power Point 的內容，是

因為李察感覺到，這一個玩意，有導致思維僵化的可

能。點列方式的思維，使現代人更加遠離了「渾沌」

的思想境界，可能是本世紀最大的思維陷阱呢。

附：原本的「渾沌故事」

南海之帝為儵，北海之帝為忽，中央之帝為

渾沌。儵與忽時相與遇於渾沌之地，渾沌待

之甚善。儵與忽謀報渾沌之德，曰：「人皆有

七竅以視聽食息，此獨無有，嘗試鑿之。」

日鑿一竅，七日而渾沌死。

(語譯)

南海的帝，名為儵。北海的帝，名為忽。中央的帝，

名為渾沌。儵和忽來到渾沌的地方，渾沌對他們也很

好。儵和忽想要報答渾沌的好處。就說：「人都是有

七個孔的。那是用來看，聽，吃，呼吸的。但渾沌卻

是沒有。不如為他鑿一下。」每天為他鑿一個孔。七

天之後，渾沌死去了。

後記：

多少年來，中國文化俱以為，「未曾開竅」是不好的。

但莊子原意並非如此。香港的殖民地文化，一向強調

「精英」教育，鼓勵青年人要做「醒目」的「叻仔」..........

莊子的真正「開竅」，可能要等下世紀了。(李察補誌於

What is the aim of  balance?

To be balanced is not an aim.

Balance is only a tool.

Balance is not a purpose.

It is simple and it is obvious.

Why it is still a problem?

If you tell yourself:  Yes, I am balanced and I am not involved.  

The meaning is that you will not do anything.

You are only floating on the sea.

You are not going anywhere.

To keep balance is only a basic necessity of a ship.

But if the ship is to go anywhere,  the ship must sail forward.

Going forward and keeping balance is one thing.

Ancient wise people in China were stressing too much in balance.  

It is conceivable in many cases.

But it will be advantageous if you can go forward.

Safety is in going forward more than floating.

Ancient wisdom of balance is not enough in modern times.

I have a conclusion in my mind.

I believe you knew it already.

I thought it is agreed in most of the Chinese minds:

Its a must to be balanced.

The meaning of balance cannot be said in a few words,  but every one knows it.

In the subconscious mind of China,  people are not seeking bigger or higher,  or richer.

They want only a balanced situation.

Yes, you can go higher and higher.   But you need to be balanced in a higher place.   It will be dangerous and useless if you are not balanced in a higher place.

And it doesn't mean that you must stay in a lower position.   You can try and you can fly.   But you must always be balanced.   You can fly higher and higher if you are balanced.   You will fall if you are not balanced.

It is subconsciously built long ago.

Everyone in the higher position,  no matter he is a merchant or a professor,  will keep that in mind.

This concept is seldom seen in other cultures. 

Ancient talented Chinese people must be very thoughtful.   They have provided a safe path for their children in only one word:  「中」.

The challenge comes 5000 years later:

Is there another one word can lead you go for another 5000 years?

I think most people can tell you one more word after  the word 「中」.

If humans have crossed that bottom line,  then humans will not be humans,   they will be another type of  creature cannot be said to be human.

It is not difficult to define human.

People can tell you what is human and what is not human.

However, it is not easy to to search for the inner nature of humans.

Because the inner nature is not easily seen.

But you can feel it.

Anyone can know what is human and what is not human:  if he is a human.

Then what is exactly the nature of a human?

It must be in the "internal feeling" of a human.

It is easily seen everywhere.

Anyone who is relying completely on external calculations is not human.

Anyone without an internal feeling is not human.

Well, someone  might argue:  He's got limbs, he's got eyes, he's got ears that he can talk in your language. How can you say he is not human?

We need to use a Chinese proverb to define this:

雖生人世上， 未得謂之人。

I don't know where does this line comes from.

But It is true.

Who is human and who is not human could be seen by common folks.

It is an inner feature for everyone.

Or you can say,  it is a guideline for everyone.

And if you can think it more,  a question will come up from your mind:

Where does this guideline come from?

Who had defined human for humans?

" Internal feeling" is important.   It is more than  the feeling to define what is human and what is not human.   It helps you to survive.  It helps you to win.  So please trust your own internal feelings,  although sometimes you need to listen to external explanations.

 What is the best time to write?

Tonight is a very special night for me.   Never tried it before.   I dropped by the Hong Kong city hall accidentally.   I was on my way to the post office.  And I have a few minutes free,  I  just went  to the ticket office,   wondering whether I could spend some time here.

I brought a ticket and have a place in a coffee shop.  But I was amazed that so many people crowded in.   They were standing and waiting,  surrounding me.  It seems all very excited waiting for the performance.  

I hope I can enjoy a good night here,  with the souls of my reader friends together.

What kinds of music am I waiting for?   I have no idea.  But the ticket office girl told me it is superb and shouldnt have missed it.

It is a wonderful feeling when you were in the crowd.  You felt composed.   No one noticed me.  It seems everyone got friends here.  They were talking and talking.  I am not interested to listen to any one of them.   It was a good mood.  Everyone seems so happy.  It is a peaceful time.  No wars are going on here in Hong Kong.   You can find any place and you can enjoy yourself.

Still, there's 10 minutes more to go.   What will you do if you have 10 minues time for free?

Yes,  I can write.

How can you sleep under such a big secret?

And of course I dont mean sleep.   You'll die if you really can't sleep.  What I meant was that we are living under a huge secret,  if that secret is not a threat.

People are easy to put all the secrets under the name of a god. 

If you know the universe is such a huge place without boundary,  you will wonder why we are here.  If you are serious,  the problem will be in your mind forever.    You will be locked up in such a secret,   And there will not be a real place of rest for you.

Are we the only living beings in this universe?

We might need another thousand of years to answer that. 

Actually, it is the same secret.   If we are the only living being or if we are not the only living being:   the situation is completely the same.   I will not expect "other living being" will tell us more about this universe.   The situation is not changed. All the "beings" were living under the same secret situation.

Now let us talk something about "ghosts".

As far as I am concerned, I think there are ghosts.

But the life span of ghosts must be very short.

They might stay for a while..... Buddhists believe that.   And the ghosts will be gone afterwards:   I think they cannot stay long.   Don't you think the ghost of Julius Caesar can stay until today?   Don't you think the ghost of Emperor Qin Shi Huang can stay until today?  No.   Not one ghost story can last for that long.   They must be gone.

Then where are the spirits of life after life?

Yes, that is a secret.

That is a secret we cannot know it now.

It is a reality we are living under a huge secret.

It is a reality with our brain function that we cannot know what we are not expected to know.

Can you be still sleeping under such a huge secret?

Humans are all busy fighting and making money.

Everyone when they are not sick and when they are not in their death beds they will not reflect on such secrets.   By the time they were on their death beds,  they will not have any energy left to think.

What does it mean?

It meant when you are able you will not think and when you are not able: you cannot think.

We have only one choice:

We can put all the secrets aside and work on what we can work.

Because you can't do anything if you carry that secret on your back.  It is useless if you do not sleep.

Only one thing is important.

That we need to admit that we are living under a huge secret.  And that we need to let our children know about this.   And please do not use religions to hide that secret.

We will be humble with such a secret on top of our head.

Next time when you are fighting each other and when you are killing each other,  you can stop for a second and think about that.

Ignorant people will not be too ignorant if they know that they are ignorant.

Why it needs to ask why?

Because if you do not ask why you will never know why.   And it is not important.   So many people die without knowing why.  It is natural.

What is unnatural is human.  Humans found they are in this universe.  And not one of the explanations are satisfactory. 

They wanted to know why.  Why there is humans and what is the reasons for a universe to be born here.

It seems like a plant.  It seems like a tree. The tree is growing and growing.  In the eyes of a human.  Tree is growing more beautiful every day.  And it is not a reason.  You cannot tell in theory why it exists and why it is growing.  You can only feel it. Because our reasoning power is still young. We cannot know more than we can know.  You can talk with your cat or your dog. You cannot tell them what they cannot know.  And we are the same. We cannot know the knowledge beyond our understanding.

It seems to be a limit, and it seems to be a boundary. But there is no boundary in this universe.  It is the reason of our freedom. When there is no boundary and no end,  then you can go everywhere.

Are we happy in this situation?

Yes we are happy.

Still you need to ask why.

You will not be stopping when you are asking.

How to gain the trust of your enemy?

If you can do it,  you will win a prize not from  Nobel,  but from History.

When your enemy wants only to kill you,  can they still trust you?

It is extremely unlikely.

It might happened one day when people can trust each other, but not now.

World peace could be near if people can really trust each other.  

There is a reason for not trusting each other on this  Planet.

It is because people have not entered the period of peace on earth.  You can't trust anybody if they are at war.

The so-called world peace is only an ideal.   And the ideal is almost unreachable.

If one day this ideal is nearer,  it will be perfect.

There are evils on earth.  You can only beat them but not trust them.

Once you can trust evils. it meant they are not here with you.

It is really sad a situation on earth right now.

It needs lots of time and lots of people to work on it.

The question is:   can evils be eliminated from this planet?

If you say yes,  you might be able to help.....

And I don't know whether it's good or not.   You might need a lifetime to work for it if you are not changed.  And you might be the first aim of the evils.

How many words can flow across the brain in a young student?

I was a crazy reader when I was young.

I remember when I was in primary five, I borrowed the Monte Cristo story from the library.

It was a book in three large volumes. I can only borrow one book each day.  The first day I borrowed volume one. And returned it the next day to borrow volume two.   And then volume three.   If Alexandre Dumas was alive,  he will be amazed that the attraction of his story is so strong,  that a young student like me cannot stop reading.

It was a  Chinese translation.  I can still remember some of the scenes after so many years.  

And then it came some very cheap swordsmen stories.   I used to read them when I was walking home. Macao is a quite small city,  and it was safe reading on the road.

I read a lot when I was young.  And I cherished the experience.  Later I tried reading English novels. I remember my painful experience in reading War and Peace by Tolstoy the Russian writer.  It was an English translation.  It was so difficult for me and I need to look up many words with a dictionary.  

And I don't like reading simplified Chinese words.

It seemed the prints were blurred.  

I don't know how the Chinese young people read  simplified prints.

It occurred to me if  I have read a million words in my brain, and if the words were all simplified,  how frustrating it could be in reading.

How many blurred low resolution images could stop you from reading?

It is the smooth flowing images created a culture of the future.  

To delay reading speed is to delay civilization.

This is the reason why I am against the simplified Chinese words.

And my question is not -

"How many words can flow across the brain in a young student?"

Because it can change the feeling and make things emotional.

If Taiwan is to return to China, this emotional problem is utterly important not to be neglected.

But Taiwan issue is still a minor problem.  It is no big deal in the grand history of China.

The major problem is in a free flowing future for a Chinese reading habit.   It is not a minor case.

For the time being I can give you only my personal experience.

I thought it is no.

A simplified form of Chinese language cannot help you think better.

If I want to show my idea, I would want to show it fully.

I will draw a complete picture for you, not a simplified one.....

But the language problem is a serious problem:

Because it is like a lock up situation.

Even though you said it is no good, but it cannot change.

A whole generation of all people need to suffer from it.

It is no good for cultural development, but it cannot change.
