How modestly it reposes on the clear pool – an emblem of purity and truth! Symmetrically perfect, its subtle perfume is wafted far and wide, while there it rests in spotless state, something to be regarded reverently from a distance, and not be profaned by familiar approach.

In my opinion, the chrysanthemum is the flower of retirement and culture; the peony, the flower of rank and wealth; the water-lily, the Lady Virtue sans pareille.

Alas; few have loved the chrysanthemum since Tao Yuan-ming; and none now love the water-lily like myself; whereas the peony is a general favourite with all mankind.

Is the grand universe a concern of a fish inside a pond?   The fish will not know the atmosphere, will not know the weather. He knows only whether he can eat or mate to survive.    And a survival urge is given to him long bofore he was born.

The three major powers will not engage in a 3rd world war,  and it is almost certain.   Certainty is important for businessmen.   It is not the same if you are certain that the world is peaceful, or the world is not peaceful.  Calculation of investments will be different.

But seldom do we notice that political balance is not the same as spiritual balance.

What is spiritual balance?

That means your blood will not be easily boiled.

That means your faith or your belief system will not push you to sacrifice in wars.

However, we are in a time of cooling down.

The story happened in a remote kingdom. I dare not tell you the name of the kingdom.  It was not real and it was so unreal that if I tell the fact it would be embarrassing,  not to me but to the King.

I thought she was the most beautiful lady i've seen for my whole life.   I have never saw a lady so pretty and so appealing.  May be that was because she was selected from millions of beautiful girls by the King.  No one can have such time and effort to search a million pretty girls and found  one.   It was only a king could do that.

The story is about how a reporter like me to help the Queen to leave her King.

It was complicated and long story and it needs a  complete novel to finish it.   It was not only the story itself important,  but the scenes are so beautiful that you can never forget about them.

Yes, a beautiful scene is just like a fresh flower. You will be dominated by the beauty if you are the right one.   If a film writer wishes to reproduce the beauty,  he needs money.  For a few seconds of beauty which can burn into your memory for your whole life,  it takes a million.

But this is a true life experience and you just felt the beauty by your fate, not by a film.

She was jogging among a group of young people outside the Palace.   I saw her and she saw me and she smiled.

It is the kind of smile which can turn over a whole country.

It was because of my dream.

I dreamt about my elder brother.

We were extremely poor even to the edge of hungry.  Although I can eat every day.   It was never a real hungry but we are at the edge of it.

And it was good.   It was healthy for thoughts to develop. If I was in a well-off family,  I might not have developed a mind to see it from the bottom.  I might not have developed a mind to concern about our universe and everything in it.   You can find many things with such a concern.

Everybody in my family was annoyed with my elder brother.  It is very bad for a poor family with a gambler to support.

My elder brother died early in his fifties.

Everything was quiet since then.

He was gradually fading away from my memory for the last 20 years.

I have a very good dream to dream about him the night before.

It means nothing can last,  and nothing can be expected.

No one can know the final outcome of this universe, and no one can know the final fate of human.

It is true and you cannot expect anything else except miracles happen.

Sensible people will ask,  what are we going to do?

It will be a deep question inside his mind for a long time.

It is a question no religious people can answer.

Because it might be a wrong question.  When you saw everything is not lasting,  you might forget that something is happening new.   Old one gone, new one come.   And there are always new ones.

If the human race is gone,  there might be a new one.   And this is not impermanence.   This is only permanence.  This is constant and lasting.

You might ask will the universe last?  The answer is yes.  Even if the universe is destroyed,  there might be a new one emerging.

And the last and more important point is:  even though nothing lasts,  but humans can create a miracle.

It must be a very strong rooted belief in you and me, that we humans can create miracle.   That is a possibility that cannot be denied.

This is a simple conviction that can keep you going.   It means hope is real.

If nothing can last,  and nothing can be expected, then one thing is still expecting:  miracles can never be denied,  and you can create one.  It is certain.

A pencil eraser can never be used up.   I have never used up a pencil eraser in my school days.  I am an absent minded student.  But I have found that,  I have never been used up any eraser.  They are lost always.   They are not finished by using. 

 I talked with an AI machine about this trivial matter.   It seems I am talking nonsense.

But the AI machine have another answer.   They said you have very few mistakes,  and you need not an eraser to erase always.   That is fun.   I like the answer. Though  it's not the thing in my mind.   My erasers are always lost due to my  carelessness.   Whenever  I cannot find my eraser, I have to buy a new one.   And it is not expensive even in the old days.   You can always keep buying.   And if anyone is so careful that they will never lost an eraser,  they must be exceptional.  And they might not be human, or not common.

My AI machine discovered that I am not talking about pencil erasers but talking something else,  they gave a hint for me.

The present day Three kingdoms Era will not be the same as the old Chinese historical Three Kingdoms Period.   Although Chinese Three Kingdoms Period was a fierce fighting period,  but it lasted only 60 years.  It is so short a time, though its memory is long and lasting.

Modern day Three Kingdoms Era will be much longer.  It is because they are not fighting.  They are only watching each other. They have no intention to fight each other.   They can't do it even if they do have the intention to swallow each other.

And this period, or an "Era" could be very long.

An era of peace without war will last for a very long time.    No one can have enough power to eliminate other powers.  They will be standing like a tripod.  They have to support each other, because they cannot destroy each other.

Is it possible that  one of the big powers have a sudden growth and the growth is very fast and extremely powerful that the other two cannot match?   

This possibility cannot be ruled out because of one thing only:   That one of the three countries be completely materialized.   It means a complete failure of the spiritual effort. It means the mind is completely not used or ruined.

It is not a reality now.  No one is doing things completely for money.  They will have more or less some  senses of spiritual justification.

This is a question we humans cannot answer.   Because there might be no boundary for this universe.   If you are able and if you can manage to go to the edge of the universe,   you can be sure that there will be an "outside" for your boundary.

What is meaning?  

This question is strange.  I have never realize the strangeness of this question.

It means:  what is the meaning of meaning?

And then you'll come to a question of no ending.

We need a meaning for everything.

You will not do things that is meaningless.

And you will find it unteresting why some people are always doing meaningless things.

And then you ask yourself, am I doing meaningless things?

Yes, what I think meaningful is for only a very short time and a very small space, isn't it?

Will my deeds remain when I am gone?

The answer is yes.

It is yes for the result.

One result will push for another result.

One deed will produce a next deed.

Is it true or is it only a theory?

Yes, it is true.

Otherwise there will be no meaning in life.

Meaning is the only important thing.

If there is no meaning there is nowhere to go.  It is the only thing important for this universe.

Nothing is important without a meaning.

Many people are doing meaningless things.  But one meaningless thing is not meaningless for another.

You see the birds are singing and the clouds are floating...... they have a meaning if you are seeing them,  and they are seeing you like you are seeing them.

It is true and we need to believe it.

Otherwise, everything will be meaningless.

So what?

It is because we do not want our life to be tasteless.

And this is the secret of the universe.

You want it tasteful.   You do not want it tasteless.

How do life emerge from nothing?

I can only observe how life emerges from something but not from nothing.

I had put sea water and sand in a fish tank for a month.   I observe it every day and finally I found little dark spots appeared on the glass.  They were conches.  But they were not coming from nothing.  There might be eggs in the sand.

Nothing is coming from nothing,  I suppose.

Music will not be born from a new guitar.

Creation is not from nothing.

The harder the struggle, the better the outcome.

If  China were not beaten by  foreign powers for so long a period,  New China will not have emerged.

Beating is useless to destroy.

Forgiving is better to transform:  Both sides will be  benefitted.

Wars can kill a nation, but not its thought.

It was like a doctor trying very hard to kill a kind of germs.  He tried all means to kill it but found the germs were already living inside his own body.

Try to forgive your enemies but not to destroy them.

Can life emerge from nothing?

The answer is no for humans.  Only god can create life from nothing.

We must always remember enemies were but the other kinds of lives.  They were not emerging from nothing.

The least part one can do is to leave them alone.

The better part is to help them.

The worst part is trying to destroy them.

What is the secret of memory?

A written memory is not a memory.  It is only a note.   You can keep a notebook.  But you cannot keep the notebook as your memory.

What is the secret of memory? 

It is in the meaning.

Anything with a meaning cannot be forgotten easily.

For example, can you remember the names of most American presidents?

Maybe one or two.

I can remember George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.  And now I can remember Barack Obama.

Those are people of meaning.

The meaning will take a note for you.   You don't need a secretary to put it down.

Anything without a meaning is worthless. 

Do not waste your time on it.

What is the secret of growing?

At first I thought the root is the secret of growing.   It seems to be possible because every tree needs a deep root for its growth.

And if I am not a tree and if I am only a satellite, where is my root?

I might say it is science.

And where is the root of the science?

And where is the root of the root?

You need a beginning for a beginning.

Yes, we might be in a circle of no end.

But sometimes we need to forget about that.

You are running fast and you don't need to stop and think why am I running so fast?

But if you can.

If you can stop and think.

You can be flying more than running.

My dream is to fly without wing.

I dream and I fly.

It is wonderful to explore your imagination in your dream.

Why are  tea- restaurants  popular in Hong Kong?

Tea- restaurants are really popular in Hong Kong.

It is not a fast food restaurant(快餐廳),    It is not a first class restaurant(貴價餐廳).  It is not a tea house(茶樓).  It is only a very common (茶餐廳).

Why is it accepted and popular?

One is the booth-seat(卡位).  It is not completely private,  but its higher raised seat back keeps out some of the views from other customers. Its a half-private place.  You can have a comfortable time without disturb.

You can simply order a drink and keep yourself comfortable for a time.

Or you can have your dinner or lunch or breakfast here. You are free and it is up to you.

It is not like those high price restaurants.  You need to be properly dressed.

You are free in a tea-restaurant anyway.

And you need not to lower your voice. You can talk freely with your friends here.

And most important of all,  its not expensive,  its affordable.

Only one thing I will never do is to open my guitar and sing here.  I prefer singing in the streets. But singing in the street is not allowed in Singapore,  it is a regret.

Will there be an inner tempo in your mind?

It was a happy experience when I was listening to music.  It was the moment when I forgot my own tempo but fell into the tempo of  the music.

I have no idea that I was following.

And when I turned off the music, the external tempo was gone.  Then sometimes I could realize that it was external.

Where is my own internal tempo?

My heartbeat is my own internal tempo.

That's why sometimes I need a really quiet place.

It could only be in my dream.

Important decision is just like that.

There are so many voices around.

Which one is my own?

And this is a wrong question.

If I am searching for my own tempo,   I must be wrong.

Because the first thing I need to do is to forget about myself.

It must be a tempo from the nature but not from me.

If I can sing without feeling someone is listening,  I will have my own tempo by then.
